Black bears have made appearences in both Erin and Hillsburgh over the past two weeks. Most recently, a black bear was spotted on the Elora Cataract Trail in Hillsburgh just past the trail head on Station Street Tuesday.
Should you come across a black bear, remain calm. Do not approach the bear and walk away if possible. If you feel you are in danger or are otherwise unable to get away safely, call 911.
Residents are advised to keep their dogs on leashes and to be mindful of surroundings when walking area trails.
