Throughout 2019 a team of outside professional planners and economists worked with the Town of Erin and Wellington County officials, residents and key stakeholders to develop a Growth Management Strategy for our community. The Growth Management Strategy will guide growth and investment for the next 20+ years.
Erin is expected to grow by between 7,000 to 10,040 residents by 2041 (up from about 4,415 residents today). Town Council must determine the appropriate amount of population growth for both Hillsburgh and Erin Village. Where should this population growth go? How should it be phased in?
This is an important conversation that we want residents to be a part of. Through upcoming community engagement, residents will have the opportunity to provide input that will help shape the Growth Management Strategy and our community’s approach to how we should grow in the decades to come.
