The Town of Erin's Clerk's Office processes claims for damages (killed or injured) to livestock caused by wildlife predation as outlined in the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program.
Damage claims are referred to the Livestock Valuer within 48 hours of discovering the incident. Please contact the Livestock Valuer (information below) to schedule an investigation. All claims will be inspected by the Livestock Valuer who will provide a report to the municipality.
The Livestock Valuer completes a detailed written report of their findings and submits a copy to the Clerk's Office and the owner. Within the report is the amount of compensation in accordance with the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program. Following the assessment of your claim by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA), any awards will be paid to you by the Town via mailed cheque.
