News Release: The County and All Seven Member Municipalities Announce Immediate Relief Measures

March 24, 2020

The County and its local municipalities recognize that residents and businesses may experience financial strain and economic impact during the COVID-19 outbreak and that municipal office closures may affect payments owed to the municipalities. 

As a first step, the County and all seven member municipalities intend to waive all penalties and interest on interim taxes for the March due date (interest and penalties will be applied effective May 30, 2020) and Q1 water payments (Interest and penalties will be applied effective July 1, 2020). This will ensure that residents and businesses who find themselves facing financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic can defer their next property tax installment without penalty. Property tax accounts will be adjusted as necessary to reflect these relief measures. For more information on local relief efforts, please contact your local municipal office. 

"These initial relief measures reflect the County and all seven member municipalities' concern for our residents and businesses well-being and economic conditions," said Warden Kelly Linton. "We will continue to work together and respond to the evolving challenges of COVID-19 pandemic."

Town of Erin Due Dates:

Taxes: The March 31, 2020 Tax Due Date can be deferred to May 29, 2020
All April and May Tax Collections Interest and Penalties have been waived for all years, until May 29, 2020. 

Water Billing: The April 30,2020 Water Billing Due Date can be deferred to June 30, 2020
