The Town of Erin is pleased to announce the winners of the National Public Works Week art contest, which garnered several astounding works from young artists.
Grade 5 student Victoria Wojcik is the winner of the contest, whose work will be printed on t-shirts to be sold at the Town’s annual Touch-A-Truck event on May 25 outside Town Hall.
“We received several impressive drawings from local youth this year,” said Chris Vernon, senior communications officer with the Town of Erin. “We are honoured to be able to showcase them at our upcoming event.”
The winner will receive tickets to Canada’s Wonderland, as well as a printed t-shirt. The shirts will be sold for $10 (limited supply) at Touch-A-Truck.
Grade 5 student Arya Heer is the second-place winner and Grade 4 student Drew Swain won third-place. Each will receive a goodie-bag prize.
Touch-A-Truck is the Town of Erin’s annual celebration of National Public Works Week, which offers youth and families the opportunity to see public works vehicles and workers up close, say hello and take photos.
There will be children’s events and displays from the Grand River Conservation Authority, County of Wellington, OCWA and more.
Town staff will be serving popcorn, ice cream and treats. There will also be face-painting and fun activities.
Naydo’s Potatoes Food Truck will also be on site selling lunches, with Paw Patrol’s Rubble close by.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on May 25 at Town Hall, 5684 Trafalgar Rd.
