Town of Erin celebrates volunteers and local businesses at the Shamrock Awards
ERIN, ON: At a very special ceremony last night, the Town of Erin presented the Shamrock Awards to honour individuals, organizations and businesses, who made a significant contribution to the community during the 2022 calendar year.
Nominations were submitted by residents and winners were chosen based on the strength of the nomination by Council and on a ranked ballot system. Nominees did not need to be residents of Erin, but their contributions had to be to the betterment of the Town of Erin community.
Awards were presented in the following categories:

- Venus Hood
- Luke Longstreet
- Audrey Devonshire
- Val Bush
- Citizen of the Year Award
- Ann Shanahan
- Innovation Award
- Farmstead Fresh – Marcel Pijper and Josh Scheerer
- Business of the Year Award
- Erin Pharmacy – Peter Meleka
- Agriculture / Agri-Business Award (new for this year)
- Budson Farm and Feed
- Environment Award (new for this year)
- Nathan Audette

Congratulations to all winners. We are very fortunate to live in a community where everyone’s hard work and contributions have enhanced our town tremendously. Without volunteers, many events and organizations that are core elements of the town of Erin would be left wanting. It is our individual and collective actions that helps in creating a strong, interconnected, vibrant community.
