The Town of Erin is investing $27,500 in Community Grant funding to local service groups this year following an expansion of the program’s budget after last year’s success.
In April 2024, Erin council voted to expand the Community Grant Funding budget from $20,500 to $30,000 annually to help support local organizations that serve Erin residents.
In total, 19 Erin community groups qualified this year for funding for a variety of community programs and initiatives.
“It’s always a hard decision. We work hard to be fair to all the qualified groups that make submissions, and we are enormously proud and thankful for all the groups that dedicate their time to Erin,” said Mayor Michael Dehn.
Recipients include the Girl Guides of Canada, Erin and Hillsburgh’s horticultural societies, the Upper Credit Human Society, the Royal Canadian Legion and The Grove Cemetery.

“It is an absolute honour to assist Erin’s agencies, service groups and clubs, who do important work in our community,” said Treasurer Wendy Parr.
Funding also supports several popular attractions and events, including the Erin Farmer’s Market, the Santa Claus Parade, Coldest Night of the Year, Walk for Dog Guides, and the 175th Anniversary of the Erin Fall Fair.
Community Grants will also aid Over Here Community Arts Adventure in creating a selfie station structure, as well as assist local youth sports organizations including Erin-Hillsburgh Minor Hockey and the Hillsburgh Erin Skating Club.
