Town of Erin Prioritizes Community Feedback on Brand Refresh

Date: Sep 20, 2024

We have heard your concerns Erin and we are taking meaningful steps to ensure your voices are reflected in the Town of Erin's ongoing brand refresh. While we initially moved quickly to align the new branding with the construction timeline of the new water tower, we recognize that we did not take the time needed to fully engage with the community before proceeding.

We sincerely apologize for this and are committed to improving the process.

The Town of Erin’s branding process is an important project that allows us to celebrate our identity and reflect the values we all share. However, we understand that it may have felt rushed without proper consultation. The urgency to place the branding on the new water tower led us to expedite certain steps to avoid additional costs to taxpayers, but we now realize that this came at the expense of thorough community engagement.

The good news is that it’s not too late. We are slowing down the process to ensure that your feedback is fully considered before finalizing the brand.

Beginning in 2023 and continuing through this summer, Erin’s Staff, Council, local businesses, and residents participated in workshops and meetings to help shape a new Strategic Plan. Out of those discussions, several core values were highlighted, including:

  • Our rich agricultural heritage
  • The charm and character of our community
  • A commitment to sustainable and green choices

These values have guided the development of the brand refresh— a word mark and symbol that we believe reflect the spirit of Erin. However, your input remains crucial. We are dedicated to making this brand truly representative of all our residents.

To help answer the questions and concerns we’ve received from the community, we’ve launched a new engagement website at www.erinengaged.erin.ca. This platform includes detailed information about why branding is important for our town’s future and how it aligns with our strategic goals. We’ve also created a dedicated FAQ section to address the common questions and concerns raised by residents so everyone can stay informed and included in the process.

We are committed to making this brand truly representative of our community, and we encourage you to visit www.erinengaged.erin.ca to share your thoughts and provide feedback. Your input is vital to shaping the outcome, and we look forward to continuing this important conversation with you.

As your Council, we remain committed to leading with respect, transparency, and inclusion. We deeply appreciate your continued engagement and patience as we take these steps to ensure our brand reflects the values and vision of the entire community.
